What is the basis for the Ombudsman’s recommendations?

The Ombudsman’s recommendations are based on the various disputes submitted to him. They are also based on the Ombudsman’s discussions with different stakeholders, such as consumer organizations.

Because as and when he handles disagreements during a year, he records the causes of the disputes in question. When a dispute is caused by the company’s processes that if improved would avoid such disputes recurring, he drafts the related recommendations.

Then when his annual report is published, he presents the year’s recommendations to the companies concerned, and with the latter monitors due implementation of the said recommendations. Knowledge of the operational processes of the business units is a plus to help improve them: that is the whole point of a local and independent company mediation service.
