Mediator of the ENGIE Group
For the ENGIE Group, the Mediator’s main mission is to resolve protracted disputes with any person or organization affected by the Group’s activities.
He is impartial, within the meaning of the provisions of the Consumer Code: he is appointed by the Consumption mediator by the Mediation Assessment and Control Commission (CECM in French). In that capacity he has been notified to the European Commission.
For the ENGIE Group, Mediation thus complements the existing complaints handling arrangements in the Group’s entities and subsidiaries and offers the complainant a last form of internal amicable resolution if the latter is unsatisfied by the answer to its complaint given by the departments concerned. It is therefore an alternative to legal proceedings, but one that can take roughly two months.
Any major mission of the ENGIE Group’s Mediator is to suggest recommended improvements to the Group’s entities with out view to reducing the number of disputes in the long term.
