ENGIE’s Mediation service is an independent entity, registered on the list of consumption mediators. It has been notified to the European Commission.
As provided for by the Order of 21 August 2015 on out-of-court resolution of disputes, it meets the following criteria:
Every year, the Mediator is allocated a budget by the Group’s Senior Management that enables him to fulfil his remit with complete independence. The budget is not conditional upon any targets or outcomes of completed mediation processes. Neither is he bound by any cyclical decisions made by the Group. For instance, in 2015 his budget was increased compared with the previous year, in line with the increase in his activity and his development plan,
a team exclusively dedicated to Mediation,
a term of office as mediator for at least 5 years, renewable and non-revocable,
with no hierarchical relationship whatsoever with the company,
The Mediation service reports directly to the Group’s Senior Management and is not part of any operational or commercial department. It can thereby carry out its work independently and impartially with regards to the parties concerned by the disputes in question.
The Mediator has been appointed in accordance with the decree of 7 December 2015: a joint appointment body (including representatives of consumer organizations and ENGIE Group representatives) met on 11 December 2015 and unanimously appointed Jean-Pierre Hervé as Mediator.
